Welcome to SJS! Debbie Beeber moved here in August from the Chicago suburbs with her husband and black lab mix, Mojo, due to her husband’s job transfer. She LOVES Hot Springs! She taught Jr High science in public schools but was drawn to teach in the Catholic school in 2008 when she and her husband went through the diaconate program. He was ordained a deacon in 2010 and will serve at St Mary of the Springs, and she earned a Certificate of Lay Ministry in the Called & Gifted Program at the Mundelein Seminary. Debbie has a life science degree in secondary education and endorsed in middle school education, social studies, English Languish Arts, and science, but middle school science has always been her passion. She applied for and was chosen to attend a STEM seminar put on by Northrop in 2016 as well as other professional development in science education throughout her career so she is current. She also enjoys being with her husband, visiting with her three grown sons and daughter-in-law, gardening, playing with Mojo, volunteering at church, her new hobby of kayaking, walking in their ten-acre woods, and accomplished a life long dream in 2019 of publishing her first novel for middle school-adults called Lambs Fighting Wolves. She is very excited to share her passion of science and life long learning with the students of St John the Baptist School!
