What is Bazaar?
Bazaar is our most profitable annual fundraiser for St. John’s School. It takes place in October and is filled with fun and festivities. Every year a new bazaar theme is selected, the year it is The Luck of the Irish. The Luck of the Irish Bazaar will be held on Friday October 29th this year. Due to Covid, and a desire to keep our students and families healthy and safe, this year will be a modified version.
The fun and games have already started for the children at St. John’s School. Bazaar themed t-shirts have been provided for students and they may wear them to school every Thursday until bazaar, the shirts may be worn with PE shorts or jeans with no holes. We have also started our “pet adoption” fundraiser in the office where you can adopt a stuffed animal pet for $5, you may have noticed all the adorable, colorful snakes that have been spotted around the school! Coming up on Monday, September 20th, the students will be able to buy “The Luck of the Irish” themed accessories to wear with their Bazaar t-shirts on Thursdays.
We have been sending home information in Wednesday envelopes on how parents and supporters can help make this year’s bazaar a success. The biggest thing we need right now is for parents to bring in items for the silent auction. These items can be large or small. They can be from businesses or if you are crafty (or know someone who is) they can be homemade. They can be gift cards or gift certificates. They can be goods OR services.
The raffle ticket sales are also an important part of bazaar. A sheet of ten tickets has been sent home with each student to sell for our $1000 cash or $500 cash raffle that will take place on October 29th. If you have sold your tickets and need more please come see Mrs. Patty in the office or give us a call and we can send them home with a student. Since this is our biggest fundraiser for the school it is so very important that we have help and support from our families and community so that we can continue offering all the benefits of a Catholic education here in Hot Springs.
In the coming weeks we will also be sending home tickets to purchase or sell for the Knights of Columbus lunch that will be available for pick up in the gym parking lot on bazaar day. The lunch will include Irish Stew, Irish Soda Bread, a green salad, and a cookie. Tickets will be $10.
